It’s well known that the U.S. population over 65 is expected to double in size by 2050. There are two regions that expect the most growth. No surprise, the “retirement metro areas,” with the top three slots going to Tampa-St. Petersburg, Tuscon and Miami, reflect longtime senior migration. The other form of increased growth of older adults is the Rust Belt, which has been losing its younger residents over time. Such cities include Pittsburgh, Buffalo and Cleveland.
