“Steakhouse syndrome” can be a matter of life or death

If someone has a piece of food stuck in his/her throat but is not choking, evaluation is still imperative.  This incident can cause irreparable damage, or even death, if not properly managed.  Also, someone who regularly experiences “food sticking” needs to be evaluated by a gastroenterologist.  The risk for “steakhouse syndrome” and “food sticking” increases with age and can have dangerous consequences.
