Dr. Bill Thomas, a self-described “Nursing Home Abolitionist”

I’m inspired by the quest of Dr. Bill Thomas, who stocked a nursing home with animals, against state law, because he had a sense that it would improve resident health.  I read about his crusade, including the “Eden Alternative,” his “Green House Project” and his overall goal which is “normalizing the entire lifespan instead of separating and stigmatizing one part as something different.”

He was recently introduced as a 2015 Next Avenue Influencer in Aging and was discussed this week in a Next Avenue Report.
