Creative Activities Show Positive Impact on People with Dementia

Music is often utilized as a therapy to help older adults, but in UK, the “Ageing Playfully” project is enhancing the use of music and other forms of creativity to help those with dementia.  More than just using music, the team uses “creative, playful and supportive [activities]” such as designing musical instruments and has seen an increase in mood and other benefits in participants.  This project involves a collaboration between those both within and outside of academia, including artists and designers as well as researchers.
