Preventing Senior Fraud:
This presentation will help professionals understand how to choose a person to act as their Agent through a Power of Attorney, how to choose someone to be a joint account holder on their bank and investment accounts, and how to decide what to withdraw from an IRA. These discussions will examine these issues with an eye on the possibility that the older adult clients will need long term care. In addition, attendees will also understand (and be able to explain to their older adult clients) how to avoid financial abuse by family members, how to maximize their online security, and how to avoid fraud and theft risks.
2014 SILENT AUCTION DETAILS:
Since 2002, thousands of professionals representing healthcare and numerous other industries have developed meaningful relationships through participating in the monthly Eldercare Professionals of Ohio networking events. In November, our members and visitors gather together to reflect on the countless lives that have been touched by organizations and professionals during the year. Our hope is that through a festive experience, we will collectively contribute to their ongoing efforts.
We invite you to our 2014 annual silent auction. This year, our event will be held, Friday, November 21, 2014 from 9:00 am – 11:00 am at Cornerstone of Hope. The auction is held during the Eldercare Professionals of Ohio, LLC holiday networking event held at Cornerstone of Hope’s facility located at 5905 Brecksville Rd., 44131. All of the funds raised from the auction will be donated to support the services provided by Cornerstone of Hope. Cornerstone of Hope exists because, in this life, the unthinkable sometimes happens. A child dies before his parents. A husband or wife dies leaving a family with anguish and unthinkable pain and no support. A student dies, leaving a school reeling over the shock and sorrow. In the loneliness, people desperately need to gain hope and connect with those who understand. When we are left without the smile and the touch of the one whom we loved so dearly, we need a hand to hold, to pull us out of the pit and the pain.
EPO is requesting various auction items to support this event. We have witnessed extremely generous and creative donations during the past 3 years. We are requesting your participation to promote another successful event. Through donating an item, you'll be making a tax deductible contribution that will support the valuable services provided by Cornerstone of Hope. We ask that auction items be valued at a minimum of $50. Keep in mind this is a great opportunity to shop for your holiday gifts!
Additionally, you will benefit through the exposure of your company's name displayed to those who attend the event. Donors will be listed on the event program, and your merchandise will be on display during the event and for the entire week following the event. As a donor, you'll be invited to attend the event and have a guest join you. You may wish to partner with another company to increase the value of your donation. As a result, you will receive additional exposure and increase the bid levels to support Cornerstone of Hope.
You may reach me at 440-212-4987 or e-mail me at email@example.com. We ask that all donations be delivered to COH not later than Friday, November 7, 2014. We look forward to having you join us at this festive event. Thank you for your consideration and support during the year! I will gladly assist you if you are interested in donation ideas.
